This morning I read a wonderful article over at  Lairbhan.blogspot  which was a great and thought provoking article on the concept of fulltrui in heathenry. A fulltrui is a god comparable to a patron deity. It is a god the individual feels particularly close to, and perhaps even dedicated to. The ins and outs of this relationship were described quite well by the author, so anyone interested in learning more about the practical nature of a fulltrui relationship should head over and give it a read. It got me thinking about my own relationship to the Vanir gods, individually. As some of you may know I consider myself a Freyja's woman, though I have not formally dedicated myself to her as my fulltrui. Just wanted to drop a line and let everyone know about all the issues that have been going on and why I haven't posted much lately. Due to my own stupidity last week, I accidentally deleted the blog on my blogger dashboard, while attempting to delete an alternate blog I no longer use anymore. I noticed this as soon as I clicked the button, and undeleted the blog immediately, thank goodness they give you a waiting period before the blog is actually deleted. I would have been utterly crushed if this blog was deleted after working so hard for almost two years now on the content here. Anyway, for some asinine reason, when the the blog was brought back online it reverted to the original blogger domain url instead of my custom url that I purchased five months ago. All attempts at changing it back to the custom url have failed miserably. I have tried to go through both google and enom, the domain registry, to verify my ownership of the domain. Idunn and the Apples of Youth by George Percy Jacomb-Hood  Idunn is a Germanic Goddess of the Norse Pantheon. She grows an orchard of golden apples which enable the Gods to stay youthful or immortal by varying accounts. She is married to Bragi, the god of Poetry. Idunn's name means "ever young" or "the rejuvenating one." There has been some speculation about the origins of the Idunn, and possible links to much older cultures than that reflected in surviving Norse myths. Baskets of apples and nuts have been found in many Germanic burial sites, including the famous Oseberg ship burial. Nuts are also associated with Idunn, as a result of the famous story in which Loki was forced to rescue her from the giant Thiazi by transforming himself into a bird and Idunn into a nut. It roots, trunk, and branches support the Nine Worlds in which all beings reside.
